CMS.Direct Storage

Centralized storage and data management tools

Growing adoption of new diagnostic imaging modalities and 4-D imaging equipment has led to dramatic increases in the volume of patient data. CMS.Direct Storage‘s centralized data storage and management tools represent a cost-effective and scalable solution that expands workstation capacity and protects critical data while providing convenient, flexible access to patient plans.

Overview

CMS.Direct Storage overview at a glance

Productivity

Enhance clinical throughput and productivity with distributed access to all patient and machine data from any planning workstation. With the capability to maintain up to 5,000 patients in 1 terabyte of online storage, users can readily access patient data to create, modify, review and approve treatment plans from any networked terminal.

Security

Simplify data management and protect clinical information with robust data backup capabilities for redundancy and disaster protection. An automated tape backup system with a 24-tape auto-loading tape library allows for preset backups to be performed at designated intervals without manual intervention. Storage tapes are conveniently bar-coded so users can track the location of individual patient files.

Reliability

Maintain performance reliability and system integrity with built-in redundancy. An array of RAID controlled SCSI disk drives provides the fastest access to stored data, and ensures uninterrupted performance in the event of a disk drive failure.

Flexibility

Expand your practice and patient volume with a flexible, scalable storage environment. Storage capacity starts at 1 TB of data, which supports on-line access to 5,000 patient plans, and is expandable to 4 terabytes of data, or approximately 20,000 patients, to support the needs of larger facilities and accommodate larger data sets.

Connectivity

Increase system speed and performance with more efficient utilization of planning workstations. With centralized data management, planning workstations are no longer needed for serving data and instead are freed up to perform dose calculations and other planning functions. Dual 1GB Network Interface Cards ensure fast throughput between data servers and planning workstations.
